FLESH WORLD - Just To Tear Me Down 7" (LUNGS-068)
The first installment in the 3rd series of ILR 2 song singles. This new series sees blank labels, color specific to the band (light blue in FW's case), that will be hand stamped and a standardized j-card sleeve that will also be hand stamped and numbered. All singles in this series will be strictly limited to 314 copies.
More of that dreamy yet jagged pop sensation that you've come to know from FLESH WORLD. The A side is from the album and the B is an exclusive remix done by none other than that Canadian audio shaman Don Pyle.
This is a booster slab for the upcoming "The Wild Animals In My Life" LP due out in June on this fine imprint. Art by Jess Scott ("she's very good").
SCUMRAID - Rip Up 7" w/download (LUNGS-066)
Completely raging crasher style punk music from Seoul, South Korea. Unorthodox song structures and virtually note free noise thrash with dual, over-the-top aggro vocals. The guitarist tells us he doesn't even listen to punk (only blues). WTF?! Unbelievable. Seeing is believing and what we saw was fucking fantastic.
700 copies on an etched black disc housed in a quality glued pocket sleeve with a collage crust insert.

FLESH WORLD puts up "Poolside Boys" and some show dates.

New Album 'The Wild Animals In My Life'

Flesh World hit us with a new, infectious tune "Poolside Boys" from their upcoming album, The Wild Animals In My Life out via Iron Lung Records on June 2nd.
The song debuted over at Noisey today who've called it "a noisy, ethereal, if not subliminally floral track." Flesh World have also announced their first set of live dates in support of the album - full list below and stay tuned for more. Flesh World began with Scott Moore (Limp Wrist) and Jess Scott (Brilliant Colors), in a microscopic lofted-bedroom in San Francisco's Panhandle district. Scott and Jess merged their respective musical histories of hardcore and pop sort of on accident. Actually without any mention of their previous bands, they bonded over the films of Kenneth Anger, the guitar work of Lou Reed and William Reid, the writing of Jean Genet, and the shirtless figures of David Hockney paintings. The pair slowly built songs in between hanging out at drag bars and punk shows, watching SF decay into some sort of inverted Detroit, isolated wealth which sent a lot of young artists running in the last couple of years.
Flesh World is sort of what's left of that, where the only places to have fun are still leather bars, house music clubs, basement punk shows. After the music and vision of Scott and Jess began to coagulate they brought in Diane Anastasio who also drummed in Brilliant Colors. At first Diane could only fit two pieces into the tiny bedroom in which Flesh World's real, basic and primitive sound developed.
Much of production, engineering, percussion and synth saw collaboration with Toronto photographer/legend, Don Pyle (Iggy Pop, Peaches). Pyle contributed enthusiastic efforts to The Wild Animals In My Life and the band considers this early member of first wave Toronto punk, electronic music, etc. to be a component to the sound of Flesh World overall.

ILR Single Series 3 kicks off with a FLESH WORLD single
FLESH WORLD - Just To Tear Me Down 7" (LUNGS-068)
The first installment in the 3rd series of ILR 2 song singles. This new series sees blank labels, color specific to the band (light blue in FW's case), that will be hand stamped and a standardized j-card sleeve that will also be hand stamped and numbered. All singles in this series will be strictly limited to 314 copies. This should be ready for consumption by end of April or early May or whenever that Record Store Day bullshit stops slowing down all the pressing plants.

A couple new jams coming...
If you didn't catch their 1st 7" last year then get yourselves ready for Seoul's SCUMRAID to punch you in the ear hole. We got to play with them twice in Korea and they killed it both nights. Hopefully out in time for their Japanese dates in March.
Should be out in June if not sooner. The long awaited follow up to 2014's "A Line In Wet Grass" 7" on this fine imprint. They will be doing a bunch of touring this year in the US and the UK to support this LP. There should be a couple videos later on too. It's all happening.

Your favorite mid-tempo manglers are back with "Locker Room", the tour single and premier track from the upcoming GAG lp later this year on IRON LUNG RECORDS.
Only 500 copies will be made, housed in a high quality felt-weave sleeve. Sounds by Dave Harvey. Art by Scott Young.

Our friend Jenn Pelly once described FW like this: "Imagine spiky melodies and washes of reverb mixed with the driving intensity of cold, post-punk spirit—skull-piercing guitar feedback, scratchy riffs, anxious drum builds, ominous moods, and bright guitar hooks when you'd least expect them." and we would be hard pressed to put it better than that.
First pressing is 500 copies on black vinyl and 100 on pink packed in a heavy felt-weave jacket with a handy little insert. Sounds by Brad Dermanouelian. Art by Martín Sorrondeguy.
